DESCRIPTION
An Enigma Eintrittzwalze (or entry wheel) found among some spare Enigma I machine parts (see C0017 — C0019). As such, it is not installed in an Enigma machine, so does not have any wires soldered to the rear of its flat brass contacts.
Notes
The entry wheel is situated to the right of the rotors in the Enigma machine, with its brass contacts touching the pins of the right-most rotor. The purpose of the entry wheel is to transfer the electrical current into the rotors when a key is pressed.
